Indian Gooseberry | How to use Amla for Hair Care?

But, what many people don’t know is that they can get shiny, long hair by using one of the ingredients that have countless benefits; and that is Indian Gooseberry (Amla). Amla for Hair Care can be used in a variety of ways.

How can you Use Amla for Hair Care?

1. Amla to treat Dandruff Problem

Amla is loaded with Vitamin C which prevents the accumulation of dandruff on the scalp.

 Take a little amount of amla powder and add a few drops of water to it. Apply the mixture to the scalp. Leave it on for about half-an-hour and then rinse off with cool water.

 Dry Amla can also be used to fight dandruff problems. When needed, grind it with a little water, mix two teaspoons of lime juice to it and apply to the scalp. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes and then wash off with Shikakai.

 Another way to use Indian Gooseberry for dandruff problem is mixing it with tulsi or basil. Mix a teaspoon of amla powder with enough amount of water to make a smooth paste. Grind ten tulsi leaves with water and mix this paste with amla paste. Apply this paste on the scalp. Let it sit for half an hour and then wash off with regular water.

2. Amla for Promoting Hair Growth

Amla Juice helps in strengthening hair follicles, thus promoting hair growth. Take enough amount of amla and lemon juice (as required for your hair length) and mix them well. Apply this mixture on the scalp and let it stay for 20 to 30 minutes. Wash off with warm water.

3. Amla for Nourishing Hair

Amla is a rich source of essential fatty acids which helps in keeping the hair follicles strong and also nourishes the hair from roots.

 Mix a little amount of amla powder with water and keep it overnight. Apply the paste to hair and scalp the next day, leave it on for 1-2 hours and rinse off with a mild shampoo.

 Boil Amla with shikakai and soapnut in an iron vessel and keep it overnight. Next day, strain the liquid and use this strained liquid to shampoo your hair.

 Make your own amla oil to prevent dandruff problems. Soak a handful of dried fruits in coconut oil or sesame oil for a few days; then filter it and use it as hair oil.

4.Amla for Preventing Hair Fall

You can eat it or apply it on your scalp; this natural ingredient works best to prevent hair fall. It penetrates the scalp and strengthens roots, thereby preventing hair fall.

 Extract juice out of amla fruit, or you can also buy amla powder from any herbal store. Take two teaspoons each of lime juice and amla powder/ juice and mix them well. Apply to the scalp and leave it to dry. Rinse off with warm water after 10-15 minutes.

5. Amla for Conditioning Hair

Amla works as a great conditioner for dry and rough hair.

 Mix some amla juice with henna well and apply evenly on your scalp and hair. Leave it on overnight and wash off the next day with cool water.
